The main personal data of Ontact ecosystem participants and the data of IoT devices are stored in distributed storage (IPFS), and data producers (users) are given the power to decide on the public scope or access rights of the data they produce.
In other words, the data itself is stored in distributed storage (IPFS) and has persistence, and the address (Content-Address) of the data stored in IPFS is managed in a blockchain network using a smart contract. Through this, it overcomes the shortcomings of the speed and block size of the blockchain network and enables the efficient storage of large data.
Decentralized Identity Authentication (DIA):
DIA (Decentralized Identity Authentication) is a decentralized identity authentication system that allows users to control, manage, and track their data, and is a core solution in the Web 3.0 IoT ecosystem that effectively protects the sovereignty of users' data
• Identity verification and registration to enable participation in the Ontact Protocol ecosystem
• Ecosystem participants store and manage their data up to one’s own decisions
• Data producers have the right to provide and trade data produced by themselves
• If a company or organization uses data obtained from individuals, that data can be used only in certain areas and is not available for the third-party provision and other scopes.
The DIA system is an integrated authentication solution for the entire Ontact ecosystem, and users who have completed authentication and identification procedures will have their own data storage space in decentralized and distributed storage. In addition, users can disclose or deny access to the data created, and it is also possible to track the provided data.
When the DIA system is established, not only users will be able to manage their own data, but also existing centralized companies will be able to reduce maintenance costs and hacking risks for directly storing and managing customer data. it can be settled as a new data processing solution that maximizes the operational efficiency of enterprises and the protection of users' data.
In the future, IoT devices and data generated from them will increase explosively, and data protection and utilization using DIA will increase rapidly in businesses that collect and utilize data.
Device Protection System (DPS):
DPS (Device Protection System) is Ontact Protocol's core solution that efficiently connects IoT devices to a decentralized network while allowing only the device owner to control the device.
• Using the DIA system, link a device connected to the network with its owner without separate authentication
• Only device owners can have access rights to devices such as data collection, transmission, and remote control
• Only device owners keep and manage their data generated by the device on blockchain and decentralized storage
For data generated through IoT devices to have value, the data must be in a reliable state and free from malicious hacking, forgery or falsification. Ontact Protocol controls access authority to IoT devices based on DIA and distributes and stores data generated from IoT devices in blockchain and decentralized storage through smart contracts, so data can be used safely from data manipulation or hacking
